Trails and Greenways

CEC provides a range of trails and greenways services to local and state governments as well as private trail sponsors. CEC provides planning survey and design, environmental documentation, and construction monitoring for bikeways, greenways, and rails to trails.

At CEC, a team of trail permitting and design professionals is on staff to assist clients in any aspect of trail development. In addition to engineers and environmental professionals, landscape architects provide services from trail concept and planning to detail design and specification writing. Construction inspectors ensure that trail construction budgets are maintained and conform with design specifications.

CEC believes that communication between trail sponsors, governmental agencies, and funding institutions is the key to successful trail development. Our project team initiates frequent meeting with these groups to ensure that project objectives, budget items, and schedule are clearly defined prior to the commencement of work. Periodic progress meetings are also held to discuss changes in the project scope or issues which arise during the trail design phase.

Our firsthand knowledge of environmentally sensitive issues, paired with our established contacts with local, state, and federal agencies who are charged with design compliance, allow us to prepare comprehensive environmental studies and design packages.
