CEC Pittsburgh's Jackie, a staff scientist in the Ecological Services group, started at CEC after receiving a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. Jackie already earned a BS in Psychology and had been working in the field for a decade, but environmental issues always held a place in her heart.

Towards the end of her studies, Jackie sought an internship with CEC to gain valuable experience in her field. Now a full-time employee, Jackie has learned a great deal from others while working on projects. "CEC will teach you what you need to know. They showed me the ropes, and I can now show others the ropes in return."

And speaking of showing others the ropes — Jackie is seen here in climbing gear atop Pittsburgh's Mt. Washington. An ongoing Invasive Plant Management & Revegetation project had Jackie planting native shrubs and trees on a steep hillside. In this photo, she is demonstrating how to use the gear to a subcontractor.
