Bio

Mr. Estep has ten years of engineering experience including bridge design and analysis, bridge rehabilitation, bridge inspection, overhead sign structure inspection, retaining wall design, and culvert design. Mr. Estep has served as Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Team Leader on numerous bridge projects ranging from complex, multi-span bridges to short and medium length girder spans for the Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia Departments of Transportation, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Authority, as well as a variety of private sector clients.

As a Project Manager, he has maintained project budgets and schedules while also performing the role of lead engineer. As a designer, he has directed the development and provided oversight of preliminary to final bridge plans using LRFD design methods. He is also experienced in designing for Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) practices including the application of advanced material technologies such as Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC). He has performed a wide array of structural analyses on bridges including structural steel modifications and improvements and substructure concrete modifications and repairs.

As a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, he has completed the safety and/or renovation inspection of timber bridges, concrete bridges, and steel structures ranging from simple spans to complex, major river crossings. He has been responsible for performing field inspections of key bridge components, fracture critical member identification and inspection, and preparation of inspection reports and maintenance recommendations.
