Mr. Murphy has over 27 years of leadership experience in the environmental industry. Prior to joining CEC in 2014, Mr. Murphy served as the Environmental Commissioner for the City of Toledo. As the Environmental Commissioner, Mr. Murphy was responsible for overseeing the Division of Environmental Services which performs many duties including, but not limited to, maintaining compliance with City’s MS4 permit, all air quality regulations in the Toledo-Lucas County region, brownfield remediation and redevelopment, sustainability, energy efficiency and alternative energy projects. Mr. Murphy has extensive knowledge of City operations and has worked closely with the Division of Parks and Recreation in the past.

At CEC, Mr. Murphy serves as the Environmental Practice Lead in the Toledo Office and the National Public Sector Market Group Lead for the company. Through his roles as Environmental Practice Lead and Market Group Lead he has extensive experience working with public sector clients at all levels of government (Municipal, County, State, Federal). His experience includes major project implementation, community involvement and funding assistance/grant writing and grant administration.
