Serving as CEC’s Water Resources Practice Lead, Steve Casey is a professional engineer working out of CEC’s Nashville, TN, office. He has over 20 years of civil engineering consulting experience. Beginning his career in solid waste management and later obtaining experience in site development, wastewater treatment, flood studies, and Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) compliance, the water resources aspects of these fields have been his focal points: hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, complex drainage basin analysis and design, stream restoration and bank stabilization design, floodplain management, and erosion prevention and sediment control design. Steve assisted with the development of the fourth edition of the Tennessee Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook. He also provides a wide variety of NPDES compliance services and specializes in small MS4 permit compliance, often acting as an extension of an MS4’s staff. He is an instructor for the Design Principles for Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control for Construction Sites course (Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Level 2) and Level 2 Recertification Course and has presented at various venues on the topics of stormwater management, erosion prevention and sediment control, and floodplain management.
