Wildflowers and Butterflies

August 30, 2018

Cheryl Bescript of CEC Philadelphia participated in a waystation and tagging program through Monarch Watch, a nonprofit with butterfly conservation programs. She has a full-fledged operation and conservation mission, and her garden is even registered as a Monarch Waystation! This year, seven butterflies were released. Of the seven, five were homegrown and the other two were foundlings from a storm. Cheryl also donated to the Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, which provides education on a variety of ecological topics, including how to use native plants for a healthier environment and integrated pest management, which she employs on her property.
