Cincinnati Plants Trees for Earth Day

April 24, 2019

In Cincinnati, CEC volunteers planted nine Malus Sugar Tyme Crabapple trees on Earth Day for Miami Township at Meadows Park at the intersection of parking lots at the north end of the parking area. In addition to tree planting, CEC worked with the township for placement of trees to fit the master plan for the park. Mark Burgess coordinated/planned the event. Parry Simmons, Ameen Bakaré, Zach Imbus, and John Imbus picked up/delivered the trees and mulch. Mark Burgess, Matt Gramza and his son Ryan, Brandon Kay, Jackie Lakeberg, Matt Nemecek, Mel Simkins, and Ed Kohinke planted the trees.

The trees were planted in holes dug by Miami Township Park equipment and personnel. CEC provided soil mix to fill in around the newly planted trees and mulch to cover.
