CEC Greenville Bulks Up Support in Ecological Sciences

December 27, 2022

CEC Greenville welcomes two key additions to its Ecological Sciences Practice.

Jason McMaster is the office’s new Ecological Sciences Practice Lead. Lisa Mash joins as the newest Senior Project Manager and Senior National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Specialist. Both ecologists bring years of experience to their roles in CEC.

Jason has worked as an environmental scientist, in the design industry as well as with a regulatory agency. He most recently has focused on business development, project management, watershed-based plans, and flood mitigation. The bulk of Jason’s career experience lies in T&E surveys, wetland/stream delineations and classifications, NEPA, vegetation surveys, stormwater permitting, environmental compliance, mitigation monitoring, and GIS. He has a strong research background, with a Master of Arts in Biology from The Citadel and a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from The College of Charleston.

Lisa has more than 25 years of professional experience in the environmental consulting industry specializing in NEPA compliance, Endangered Species Act (ESA) Section 7 and 10 consultation, and environmental permitting support in coordination with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA), U.S. Air Force, and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). As Senior Project Manager, Lisa has had full responsibility for the successful completion of services in support of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs)/Environmental Assessments (EAs), Habitat Conservation Plans (HCPs), and Biological Assessments (BAs), including oversight of a complex project team, work product development; coordination with lead agencies at the federal, state, and local level; and overall management of the NEPA or environmental review process.

“The Ecological Sciences practice just started in our office when Lisa came on board two months ago, so the impact of having Jason join our team is enormous. Between Lisa working in the Charleston area and Jason in Greenville, this will give us full coverage of the state (Low County Region to the Upstate Region). The Greenville Office is now a one-stop shop for clients with services that include Civil, Ecological, Environmental, and Survey,” said Brian Souva, Greenville Office Lead.

Jason and Lisa look forward to working with new and existing CEC clients.
