This is an introductory course on the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Tailored for broad range of professionals faced with projects that may have impacts to threatened or endangered species. You will learn how to navigate the ESA compliance process. We will provide basic information on the content of ESA, other related state and federal laws, alternative pathways to ensure compliance, obtaining “take” authorization under Section 7 (Federal Agency Consultations), and obtaining a “take” permit under Section 10. Participants are encouraged to share specific examples of ESA compliance challenges they may be facing.
