Bryan Hazelwood, CFI, CFII, is CEC’s Chief Pilot in charge of Un-Crewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations, has over 1,400 crewed aircraft flight hours, holds a Commercial Pilots License, Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine Rating and an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License. He has previously served as a Part 135 Captain for 3 years.
Mr. Hazelwood is a FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII).
Previously working for Stat Medevac an Emergency Helicopter Operator, Mr. Hazelwood was instrumental in the development of their Operational Control Program required under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Upon joining CEC in 2015 as Chief Pilot, Mr. Hazelwood leaned on his 25 plus years of experience with manned aircraft operations to develop CEC’s UAS program from the ground up. This includes Operations Manual, SOP’s, Work Safety Manual updates specific to UAS work, and Aircraft Maintenance Program. Mr. Hazelwood is a FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII), and oversees CEC’s training program.
Mr. Hazelwood has logged hundreds of hours remotely collecting and processing aerial data via UAS including: LiDAR, Photogrammetry, Thermal, Multi-Spectral, Magnetometer, Optical Gas Imaging, as well as aerial video and photos.
