Dustin J. Kuhlman, P.E., is president, chairman, and chief executive officer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC). Mr. Kuhlman’s tenure with CEC began in 2006 when he joined the civil engineering practice as a project manager in the company’s Pittsburgh headquarters office. He was immediately drawn to CEC’s culture of client-first service through the mentorship he received from CEC’s founders and senior leaders. Over the course of his career, Mr. Kuhlman was propelled into several leadership roles, beginning with serving as the office’s Civil Engineering practice lead. He would continue along his path by serving as the Pittsburgh headquarters office lead and later as a vice president of operations for several of CEC’s branch offices. In 2022, Mr. Kuhlman became CEC’s first non-founder CEO and has made it his charge to build on and continuously improve CEC’s ability to deliver exceptional service to clients, produce favorable results for its employee-owners, provide growth and development opportunities for employees, and ensure CEC is the employer of choice. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Kuhlman is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and on the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh.
