Bio

Mr. Van Ostran has been a licensed Professional Surveyor for 17 years and has over 26 years of surveying experience managing both small and large scale projects. Mr. Van Ostran specializes in boundary surveys ranging in size up to 12,500 acres, ALTA/NSPS surveys, both small- and large-scale right-of-way projects, utility corridor surveys and layout, FEMA Elevations surveys, Letters of Map Amendments and Revisions, complex construction layout, and engineering topographic surveys for both private development and public improvement projects. Mr. Van Ostran is pre-qualified as a ODOT Right-of-Way Reviewer and Designer since 2004. Mr. Van Ostran is licensed in Ohio and Kentucky and approved to take his professional test in Michigan.

Prior to joining CEC, Mr. Van Ostran served as the survey department lead of multiple offices. Mr. Van Ostran oversaw the daily operations of both offices including 8 field crews and 4 office personnel. Projects included ODOT right-of-way improvements, large tract boundary surveys for land sales (66,000 acres), MARCS Tower boundary surveys and design, construction layout of buildings in excess of 1.7 M SQ FT, horizontal well plats, utility corridor surveys, municipal infrastructure improvements, and NRCS Conservation Easements.

Mr. Van Ostran was responsible for all business development, client management, cost proposals, RFQs, and invoicing. Also providing mentoring and supervision of younger staff.
