Bio
Mr. Sayles is a Principal at CEC leading the construction services group with over 24 years of diverse geotechnical and construction materials experience. He has worked on a wide range of subsurface investigations to form conclusions, recommendations, and design for building foundations, deep foundation systems, slope stability, retaining walls, pavements, earth dams, seismic design and earthwork. He has also performed numerous forensic investigations including retaining wall failures, slope failures, foundation settlements and heaves. He coordinates and collaborates with CEC’s site civil engineering group to develop construction plans and specifications. In addition to providing geotechnical services, Mr. Sayles also has the same expertise and experience providing QA/QC testing and inspections for these types of earthwork and specialty geotechnical construction projects.
Since its first edition in 2000, Mr. Sayles has been providing, managing and training inspectors performing code mandated special inspections to determine compliance with the project documents and the International Building Code (IBC) Chapter 17. Micah has provided IBC special inspections presentations for various building code officials, architects and engineers in the area, and serves on a PA State Code Advocacy Committee proposing new language to the building code as it relates to inspector qualifications.
