Bio

Mike Schumaker has more than 30 years of geotechnical and civil engineering experience, with a strong focus on site development, subsurface investigations, foundation and earth retention design, slope stability, landslide repair, and construction-phase support. He has managed more than 200 site development projects and has led geotechnical investigations and recommendations for projects ranging from facility additions to large-scale new developments.

As Geotechnical Engineering Practice Lead, Mr. Schumaker brings deep technical expertise in earth retention systems, foundation construction, retaining walls, fill placement, dam inspections, mine-related stability, forensic investigations, and expert witness support. His experience strengthens CEC’s ability to deliver practical, cost-effective geotechnical solutions from planning through construction.
