The BDC and Pietro Fiorentini received the award for Brownfield Development and Remediation for the development of Pietro Fiorentini’s new manufacturing plant in the Three Springs Business Park in Weirton. CEC Vice President Dave Olson was present for the presentation of the award.

CEC completed this project, and other similar projects,  for the Business Development Corp of the Northern Panhandle under a USEPA Brownfields Assessment Grant. Our role included completing a site assessment (soil and groundwater sampling), a human health and ecological risk assessment, a remedial action plan, and an environmental land use covenant that were used to obtain a Certificate of Completion under the West Virginia Voluntary Remediation Program.
