Westlake, OH
Owner Objective
TravelCenters of America (TA), part of BP Products North America, operates a large and frequently changing network of facilities across the U.S. This creates significant complexity in meeting Tier II Chemical Inventory Reporting requirements. With varying state reporting systems, TA faces challenges in determining applicability and maintaining correct submissions across hundreds of sites. Disruptions have also led to system‑access complications that require remediation to complete Tier II filings on time.
CEC Approach
CEC is actively managing TA’s Tier II reporting program by verifying facility status, reviewing hazardous chemical inventories, and preparing and routing draft reports for TA approval. CEC submits finalized reports to State Emergency Response Commissions, Local Emergency Planning Committees, and fire departments in accordance with state‑specific requirements. Our team also pays applicable fees on TA’s behalf and uploads final documentation to TA’s system. Alongside technical reporting, CEC is resolving access issues in various state platforms and ensuring reporting accuracy through best practices consistent with current Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act guidance.
CEC’s efforts are currently underway and progressing on schedule toward the required Tier II reporting deadline. The program continues to operate as a coordinated, multi‑state compliance effort that supports TA’s ongoing environmental and regulatory responsibilities.
