CEC’s structural engineers have a broad background in the design of new and rehabilitated bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structures required for transportation projects.
CEC’s structural engineers collaborate with clients and contractors to plan, design, and construct bridges and transportation structures that achieve successful results. Our team is intimately familiar with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) design specifications, as well as Department of Transportation processes and procedures. Our team works with state and local officials, developers, contractors, and other authorities to improve mobility through the use of advanced technologies. We have designed new and rehabilitated bridges including small stream crossings, multi-span grade separation structures, and large, signature bridges. CEC’s structural expertise extends to other structures in support of transportation projects, including retaining walls, high-mast light poles, and sign structures.
Our engineers design new bridges or rehabilitate existing bridges to make them like new, balancing design with maintenance considerations. Our staff provides bridge inspections for rehabilitation purposes, as well as required biennial inspections meeting national bridge inspection standards.
