As part of the ACE Mentoring program in Pittsburgh, a group of 35-40 local high school students are working on a development project. They are given a real site, a program for their building (pet store, coffee shop, book store, etc.), and are taken through the various professions involved in the process of development. CEC hosted the students, and Dan Harold gave a presentation on Landscape Architecture – what it is and how it relates to their project. Following the presentation, the students designed the landscape on their site coming up with very creative and thoughtful solutions for the outdoor space. Matt Davis and Courtney Dean helped to organize the event and assist the students during the design phase. Dana Klann helped to give a presentation on Civil Engineering to the students on an earlier date for the program.
