Team members from CEC offices around the country recently participated in various office and organizations’ golf outings. Of particular note, CEC Columbus office raised money for a good cause in its first annual event.
Here’s a look at recent events.
CEC Columbus
CEC Columbus hosted its first annual Client Appreciation Charity Golf Outing at Delaware Golf Club. The outing was attended by CEC clients and team members. CEC teams volunteered as hole attendants, worked at registration, or participated in client entertainment activities throughout the day.
Money raised through a 50/50 raffle, hole sponsorships, and contests went to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
CEC Pittsburgh
Dozens of team members from CEC Pittsburgh gathered for an annual golf outing at Mt. Lebanon Golf Course. The event was a nine-hole scramble featuring 11 teams and 43 participants.
CEC Toledo
- Our Toledo office hosted a client appreciation event at the 2021 Solheim Cup, an annual golf tournament where the best women’s golfers in the United States compete against the best from Europe.
- Mike Coonfare and Fernando Camargo of CEC Toledo participated in a golf event supported by the Toledo Society of Professional Engineering (TSPE). The event at Legacy Golf Club in southern Michigan hosted more than 70 players representing 18 companies and engineering firms in the region. CEC was a hole sponsor.
- CEC also supported the annual Republic Services/Helping Hands Network golf outing fundraiser. CEC participants included Nick Bohland, Mike Coonfare, and Tom Covrett. More than $6,619 was raised to feed the community, providing more than 25,000 meals for neighbors in need. CEC was a hole sponsor for this event as well.
Appalachian Pipeline Association
CEC Pittsburgh’s Christy Mower, a principal in our Ecological Sciences practice, participated in the Appalachian Pipeliners Association’s golf outing at Quicksilver Golf Club. The Appalachian Pipeliners Association aims to promote pipeline engineering and operational best practices that will benefit both association membership and the pipeline industry as a whole. CEC was a sponsor of the event.
Waste Connections of Colorado
CEC was a bronze sponsor for the second annual Waste Connections of Colorado golf outing at Colorado National Golf Club. CEC Cleveland’s Tony Pelletier and CEC Oklahoma City’s Jeff Shepherd attended the event in Denver. The event assists local charitable organizations in need of support. This year, donations provided assistance to A Precious Child, Westminster Public School Foundation, and the Colorado Miners Organizations.
Solid Waste Association of North America
CEC was a sponsor during a golf outing as part of the Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) Region 6 Conference. SWANA Region 6 consists of chapters from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Mike Widner, a principal in CEC’s landfill gas operations and maintenance group, and Todd Whittle, a principal in CEC Charlotte’s waste management practice, participated in the event.
