CEC Houston is pleased to welcome Janet Meaux, P.G., to our Environmental Engineering and Sciences practice as a Senior Project Manager. Janet has 32 years of experience in managing a variety of environmental projects, from small commercial properties to large industrial facilities. She has served clients from a wide array of market sectors, including the solid waste industry, oil & gas upstream and midstream industries, oil & gas support facilities, attorneys, real estate developers, and insurance companies. Janet’s experience in the solid waste industry has been as a direct employee and an environmental consultant.

Janet has utilized her diverse environmental background in negotiations with local, state, and federal agencies and has regulatory experience that includes TRRP, RCRA, CERCLA, NPDES, MSW, and spills. She also has completed MSW landfill and RCRA permit applications, water and waste compliance projects, due diligence assessments, and compliance auditing of oil & gas support facilities. Her familiarity with various remediation strategies has led to the regulatory closure of sites in several states. Prior to joining CEC, Janet was the project manager at the MDI Superfund site in Houston, Texas, where she managed soil remediation activities and semiannual groundwater sampling and reporting, and coordinated with Environmental Protection Agency regulators. The site, located in Houston’s Fifth Ward, was home to two metal casting foundries followed by a chemical recycling facility that stored various types of waste in drums.

Janet is a licensed Professional Geologist in Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming, and a Registered Professional Geologist in Mississippi. She is also a licensed Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank (LPST) Project Manager and a member of the Houston Geological Society. Janet earned a bachelor’s degree in geology from Rutgers University and a master’s degree in geology from the University of Houston.
