CEC Toledo is excited to welcome Sean Paulsen, P.G., to the team as a Principal in our Waste Management practice. Sean will be focused on serving clients in the Michigan market while also providing support to our other offices. Sean brings over 27 years of experience managing and conducting numerous hydrogeologic investigations and environmental compliance monitoring programs in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.

Sean has direct experience and has managed teams completing hydrogeologic investigations for landfill expansion projects, operations and monitoring of remediation systems, and numerous landfill environmental monitoring programs. His work has been performed primarily for solid waste, power, and aggregate clients. He has extensive experience with all aspects of environmental monitoring programs, including plan development, data collection, statistical analysis, developing technical reports, and alternate source demonstrations. He has experience managing detection, assessment, and corrective action programs that involve a variety of monitoring constituents including inorganics, metals, volatile and semivolatile organic compounds, as well as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Sean has a bachelor’s degree in geology from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in marine geology and geochemistry from the University of Michigan. He is a licensed professional geologist in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Illinois and a member of the Michigan Waste and Recycling Association.
