May 11, 2023

CEC Nashville’s Emily Reed, a Project Manager I in our Civil Engineering practice, has won the Young Engineer of the Year award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Nashville Branch. This award is given annually to an engineer 35 years or younger who has made significant contributions to the Society at the national, section, and/or branch level.

Emily currently serves as the Chair of the Younger Member Group (YMG) for the ASCE Nashville Branch and leads a board of seven other young engineers. As Chair, she sits on the main ASCE Nashville Branch board to advocate on behalf of the YMG. This past January, Emily was appointed to be the YMG Chair for the ASCE Tennessee Section. In this role, she facilitates collaboration amongst other young leaders across the state and represents them at Tennessee Section board meetings.

Emily is a boomerang employee who has been with our team for more than four years. She specializes in geotechnical projects working across CEC’s footprint. Emily has a master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Tennessee Technological University and is a licensed professional engineer in Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee. She is also a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers
