Patrick McMahon, P.E., Principal, has been named CEC’s Water Resources Corporate Practice Lead. Patrick has more than 21 years of professional experience, including the past four years with CEC. He brings extensive expertise in both civil and environmental engineering, supported by a master’s degree in environmental engineering and a doctorate in civil engineering.
Patrick’s technical expertise spans single-event and continuous-simulation hydrologic modeling; one-, two-, and three-dimensional hydraulic modeling; sediment transport and bedload modeling; stream restoration design; fish passage analyses; dam removal and dam breach analyses; flood wave propagation studies; National Flood Insurance Program and MS4 compliance analyses; and erosion control, storm drainage design, and retrofit. He is a licensed professional engineer in North Carolina and Tennessee and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Association of State Floodplain Managers, the Tennessee City Management Association, and more.
Patrick says, “The Water Resources Practice is an impressive team of professionals. I look forward to supporting and working with both established and emerging team members to grow our capabilities, expand our client base, and continuously advance quality in project execution. My areas of immediate focus will be expansion of services under existing master services agreements, alignment of resources to support practice marketing efforts, increased collaboration and support for growth in our western offices, and continued support for cross-practice and cross-office collaboration.” Patrick’s broader goals include increasing the practice’s visibility in our industry and communities, curating our technical resources for more consistent and broader use, and supporting the continued growth and development of CECs’ early and mid-career Water Resources professionals.
