Chris Murray will be presenting “Survey Control and Intro to NGS “2022” Datum” on Wednesday, May 15 from 1:10-1:50 pm. Immediately following, he will also co-present “Drone Surveying and Uses in Landfill Capping Construction” with Adrian Baugh from 1:50-2:10 pm in Room 15.

Jo House is scheduled to present “Amoozemeter Field Demonstration for Determining Landfill Liner Hydraulic Conductivity” on Thursday, May 16 from 9:00-9:30 am in Room 15.

Adrian A. Baugh

Mr. Baugh has more than 4 years of experience in Solid Waste, Environmental, Water Resources and Ecological service practices. After completing 3 consecutive summers at CEC as an intern Mr. Baugh was hired on full time for CEC in 2014 to work out of the Franklin, TN office. Mr. Baugh's responsibilities include extensive groundwater monitoring for multiple landfill sites, construction quality assurance monitoring and inspecting, Nuclear Density testing for low permeability soil liners and QC for geosynthetic liner systems, landfill gas monitoring and other various types of field data collection and sampling. Mr. Baugh has obtained the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification. This certificate enables UAV flights for Aerial Topography Mapping and imaging. He assisted in the development of CEC Nashville's UAS program. Mr. Baugh is highly experienced with various groundwater pumping systems including Grundfos Redi-Flo systems, Sample Champ pump systems, and QED AP pump systems. In addition Mr. Baugh is extremely adept with Insitu ISCO Solinst and YSI water quality meters and data loggers, Landtec GEM gas analyzer equipment, TVA surface emissions monitoring equipment, McElroy electro-coupling and pitbull HDPE plastic fusion equipment and Troxler 3400 series Nuclear Density Gauges. As a geosynthetic CQA monitor Mr. Baugh has certified more than 1.2 million square feet of geosynthetic liner.

Mr. Murray has over 35 years as a Professional Engineer, Land Surveyor and Planner with extensive focus in regulatory and environmental compliance, project management and permitting, landfill remediation, solid waste operations and design, capital management and budgeting,land surveying and work in private practice sector. Areas of responsibility include developing and implementing Region and Area-wide programs for a national waste company, training environmental personnel on company systems and standards, managing wastewater treatment plant operations, environmental compliance management, managing landfill liner/cap design and bid documents, construction management, supervising construction observers and field work, supervising and directing landfill operations, transportation and facility operations staff, managing region-wide capital budget development and reporting, compliance reporting, recycling and renewable energy initiatives, long range planning and implementation of solid waste disposal alternatives, and preparing case material for testimony in land litigation. Interface knowledgeably and effectively with Federal, County and State agencies, developers, clients and attorneys. Possess thorough knowledge of landfill operations and permitting, project management and design, GIS and GPS surveying and operation of GPS survey equipment, the State Plane Coordinate Systems and record title retracement surveying.

Mr. House spent the first 14 years of his career performing geotechnical engineering projects specializing in slope stability analyses. Mr. House utilized his geotechnical background while working for the Tennessee Division of Solid Waste Management (TDSWM) to author numerous landfill guidance documents such as the "Construction Quality Assurance for Landfill Liners and Cover Construction" and the "Earthquake Evaluation Guidance Document". The earthquake evaluation is used to evaluate the slope stability of landfills during earthquakes. Mr. House has an in-depth knowledge of the Subtitle "D" solid waste regulations since he was an employee of TDSWM during the development and promulgation of the solid waste regulations. Mr. House served as the technical chief of the TDSWM solid waste section providing training and technical support to the entire Tennessee Solid Waste Division. Mr. House has 30 years combined experience in engineering and environmental consulting. He has served as Project Manager for the successful completion of more than 100 geotechnical engineering, environmental and construction management projects. He managed two large multi-service contracts, each comprised of more than 10 individual engineering projects requiring the coordination and supervision of teams of engineers, scientists, technicians, surveyors, and drafters. He is very proficient with many of today's most sophisticated scientific software packages, as well as various word processing, spreadsheet and drafting packages. His career has been dedicated to providing technically creative and economically sound solutions for a diverse range of engineering and environmental problems.
