CEC offers tailored environmental inspection services that enable clients to meet their regulatory reporting requirements. CEC employs numerous environmental professionals who lead and work with crews to help projects stay in and ahead of compliance.
Environmental scientists, engineers, and field staff regularly lead and/or participate in the processes of route development, right-of-way design, wetland and stream crossing design, mitigation plan development, threatened and endangered species investigations, habitat assessments, erosion and sedimentation control design, post-construction stormwater management design, alignment plan preparation, and construction document development.
Environmental inspection services are often tailored to meet the regulatory reporting requirements associated with multiple permits for a project. These services may include completing post-construction monitoring and reporting activities and ensuring adherence to the FERC Plan and Procedures, stormwater discharge permits, state-specific erosion and sedimentation control permits, and county floodplain ordinances. CEC employs numerous stormwater professionals who are licensed as a Professional Engineer or who are a Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ) and/or a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sedimentation Control (CPESC). CEC also provides a team of Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control (SESC) inspectors.
Linear Field Inspections
CEC professionals lead and work with crews to stay in and ahead of compliance. With a working knowledge of stormwater management BMPs, CEC provides daily, weekly, monthly, and post-storm event compliance inspections and wetland protection reporting. CEC provides tailored field solutions for access roads and poor drainage areas along with soil/vegetation studies for recording percent coverage.
Consistent daily field reporting of ongoing and pending activities on active sites along with specific solutions for slip repairs, stream crossings, and other environmental concerns that may arise are provided by experienced Field Inspectors. Seasonal and as-needed “punch lists” for project completion and a release, or Notice of Termination (NOT), from the State’s DEP can be provided along with solutions for final reclamation on site. Inspections services include:
- Observe topography for past events (i.e., old vs. dormant)
- Manage environmental emergencies and clean-up, reporting, and restoration
- Observe and enforce containment of contamination material
- Inspect re-fueling, maintenance areas, and port-a-let facilities for spill control
- Measure and record pay quantities
- Review/conduct environmental incident investigations and assure corrective actions
