Acquisition of SITEC, Inc. of Dartmouth, Mass.

August 3, 2020

On August 1, we acquired civil engineering and land survey firm SITEC, Inc. (SITEC). The Dartmouth, Massachusetts-based firm was co-founded in 1989 by its current president, Steven Gioiosa, P.E. The decision is part of our ongoing strategy to grow and diversify the capabilities of our existing operations.

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. acquires Dartmouth, Massachusetts-based civil engineering and land survey firm SITEC, Inc.

Our Boston-area operations will now include the firm’s existing office in Raynham, Massachusetts, and SITEC’s existing offices in Dartmouth and Fall River, Massachusetts. The acquisition allows us to better support our clients in southern Massachusetts and throughout New England.

SITEC has provided design and engineering for residential subdivisions, retail and commercial developments, and office and industrial buildings. The firm’s solar energy industry experience includes providing services for more than 20 large-scale projects for local and national solar power companies.

Gioiosa joins CEC as a vice president in the Civil Engineering practice. “Steve has helped SITEC build an incredible reputation that has earned them a considerable amount of repeat business and also referrals from developers, solar energy firms, attorneys, architects, and city/town officials and boards,” said Barry VanLaarhoven, P.E., vice president and the lead for CEC’s Boston-area operations.

Gioiosa is a civil engineer with more than 40 years of experience designing and permitting hundreds of site development projects. His notable track record also includes working with public agencies, making public presentations, and providing expert testimony for a number of land use court cases. With the acquisition of SITEC Inc., CEC’s Boston-area operations now have the capabilities to provide regional survey/geospatial services
