A group from our team at CEC Athens recently volunteered in the construction of Valley Playland, which is located near our office. Valley Playland in the Borough of Athens was constructed nearly 30 years ago but was in need of attention to improve safety and ADA access. Futurescapes, a nonprofit organization, offered to work with Athens Borough to rebuild the playground, and funding was made possible through the Bradford County Impact Free Grant Program.
Members of CEC Athens dedicated their time and were among hundreds of volunteers who helped assemble materials over the course of a week. Todd Babcock, our Athens office lead, provided surveying for the project, and also captured drone footage of the ongoing construction.
Our Athens team is proud to have helped update this borough staple and make it safer place for the community. Watch the video below, which was taken from a drone, showing the progress of the construction.
