In early February, CEC Phoenix volunteered with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a nonprofit organization that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children.
Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under five years old. FMSC estimates at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition. CEC is honored to give of our time to help address this issue and work toward saving lives.
According to their website, FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. During the volunteer event, CEC helped pack non-perishable meals and contributed to feeding 27 children for an entire year! Once the meals are packed, FMSC partners with organizations and ministries around the world to get the life-saving meals to the people who need them most. Special thanks to Diana Dewey and the Phoenix Social Committee for scheduling this worthwhile and rewarding event.
