George Genero, P.E., has assumed the role of CEC Greenville Operations Lead, as Brian Souva. P.L.S., transitions into retirement, ensuring a seamless leadership succession for the office and its clients.
George, a Principal in the Civil Engineering practice, and seven-year veteran of the firm, has been actively involved in Greenville office operations and leadership, making him a natural choice to guide the office into its next chapter.
Throughout his career, George has led multidisciplinary teams and overseen complex projects involving engineering, surveying, environmental, and construction professionals. His client-focused approach and extensive experience managing teams position him well to continue the office’s growth while maintaining the high level of service clients have come to expect.
“This office has a talented and motivated team,” George said. “We have a strong culture, a great group of emerging professionals, and a solid foundation to continue growing. My focus will be on supporting our people, strengthening our service lines, and continuing to build relationships with clients throughout the region.”
The Greenville office currently includes 24 professionals and has built a reputation for delivering quality civil engineering, surveying, and environmental services throughout the region.

The Aug. 2 leadership transition follows the retirement of Brian, who has spent 40 years in the engineering and surveying industry and has led multiple offices throughout his career. Since joining CEC in 2011, and later the Greenville office in 2022, he has helped strengthen operations, develop staff, and position the office for future growth. Following his retirement, Brian will continue to support the organization as an as-needed Senior Survey Consultant.
“George has always been involved in helping manage the office,” Brian said. “He knows the office, the people, and how we operate. A lot of this transition work has already been happening for a while.”
As Brian looks forward to spending more time with family, traveling, and pursuing personal interests, he leaves behind a thriving office and a strong leadership team. Together, Brian and George have worked to ensure continuity for both employees and clients, creating a smooth transition that positions the Greenville office for continued success.
The Greenville office remains committed to delivering exceptional service while building on the strong foundation established under Brian’s leadership and embracing new opportunities under George’s direction.
