“Treating” Others with Kindness

November 9, 2020
As the coronavirus pandemic continues, it’s forcing organizations to find creative ways to maintain annual traditions. The CEC Bridgeport office was the lead sponsor to underwrite and sponsor the Trick or Treat goodie bags for a joint event with the United Way and the Marion County Public Library System. The event hosted on the Friday evening before Halloween was a tremendous success. More than 2,500 attendees stayed in their vehicles with the CEC goodie bags being placed on side mirrors for different organizations to provide candy and treats.

The bags were spotted throughout the community on Saturday evening during the house-to-house Trick or Treat events held in Marion County. This is a true testament to community partnership and helping friends, families, and colleagues overcome difficult circumstances to put a smile on their face.

For Halloween this year, the CEC Oklahoma City office picked items from the non-profit organization Woven Life’s “need list” and dropped the items off to the organization after the holiday weekend. Woven Life is an organization that offers daycare, special learning classes, and other developmental programs for children with special needs. They also offer adult daycare services for those with dementia.

The OKC team worked hard to get the items that Woven Life needed despite all of them having some level of damage to their own homes and many without power due to a severe ice storm. Thank you OKC for thinking of others at a time when you were facing adversity.
