CEC’s Arizona offices continue to grow with the recent additions of a Principal and a Senior Project Manager.
Pim van der Giessen, P.E., joins CEC Phoenix as a Principal in its Civil Engineering practice, while Mike Andrews, P.E., is the newest Senior Project Manager in CEC’s Tempe office.
Pim has more than 30 years of diverse private and public development experience, specializing in projects throughout Arizona and western Canada. He is an expert in client and team management, engineering design, site planning, construction document approvals, technical writing, and feasibility assessment entitlement and research. His civil engineering design experience allows him to resolve complex design issues, mentor staff, speak about project design at public forums, and create cost-saving engineering plans.
From inception to construction completion, Pim’s private development design and management experience includes residential, build-for-rent, multi-family, commercial, industrial, and master-planned developments ranging from an acre to six square miles. His public sector project experience includes public road design and rehabilitation, signing and striping, master drainage study, community outreach, and school, prison, and park site designs. At CEC, Pim will develop a practice group focused on residential, build-for-rent, and commercial developments.
He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California Polytechnic State University and is a licensed professional engineer in Arizona. He is an active member of Arizona Forward, the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona, and the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks.
Mike brings more than 20 years of experience in project management and design.
Working on both residential and commercial land development projects, he enjoys the challenge of delivering successful projects to the client and playing a role in growing communities. He is a licensed professional engineer in Arizona.
A graduate of Arizona State University, Mike grew up in Arizona and has spent most of his career there. Some unique projects provided him the opportunity to live and work for several years in Dubai, U.A.E. and Perth, WA, Australia.
He is married with three daughters and enjoys riding his dirt bike, playing basketball, tinkering on cars and motorcycles, and spending time outdoors.
