On October 25, 2023, CEC Corpus Christi was recognized for exemplary safety performance during the South Texas Industrial Safety Excellence Awards Program.
The program is presented by the Contractors Safety Council of the Coastal Bend, Inc., and the Coastal Bend Industry Association. This recognition was based on 0 incidents for less than 25,000 hours worked in the office’s first year of eligibility. Corpus Christi clients American Chrome & Chemicals, HDR, and Flint Hills Resources all supported the CEC nomination.
“The safety culture is inherent in our office. The people who lead the safety charge are the ones on the ground, out in the field. I’m proud of our staff and this recognition,” Corpus Christi Office Lead Harold Barber says.

The South Texas Industrial Safety Excellence Awards Program recognizes commendable safety performance of individual contractor/consulting firms. The awards are intended to convey strong support of contractor safety performance in full recognition of the fact that contractors have the primary responsibility for execution of on-site safety, working in conjunction with the owner, architects, and engineers, to ensure an overall safe workplace.
