CEC Austin welcomes Curtis Vaughn, EMBA, PMP®, as a Principal in our Environmental Engineering and Sciences practice.

Curtis brings more than 30 years of experience as an executive leader focused on building and scaling federal environmental and infrastructure businesses and leading growth, transformation, and operational performance across Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian agency programs. His background strengthens CEC’s ability to support clients who require integrated technical strategy, disciplined execution, regulatory defensibility, and scalable solutions across high-stakes environmental, infrastructure, and resiliency programs.

He is widely recognized as a national leader for complex federal programs including the full lifecycle of environmental compliance and restoration, RCRA and CERCLA investigations, remedial design and execution, performance‑based remediation, regulatory permitting and geospatial technology application across the DoD, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Throughout his career, Curtis has served in senior leadership roles with responsibility for national market strategy, client development, capture execution, operational performance, and portfolio risk management. He has led multidisciplinary teams, supported major Federal contract vehicles, and helped organizations align business strategy with client mission requirements, improving delivery performance and long-term client value.

Curtis holds a bachelor’s degree in marine fisheries from Texas A&M University and an Executive MBA from Baylor University. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP®) and an active member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He has also authored and presented numerous publications on environmental data management, emergency response, and innovative remediation strategies at national and international forums.

In his role with CEC, Curtis will play a key role in expanding our federal environmental services portfolio, strengthen client strategy and program delivery, and mentor project leaders as we help clients address their most complex environmental, infrastructure, and resiliency challenges.
