Free Environmental Training Courses For Fall 2021

CEC is pleased to announce the offerings for our second group of free environmental training courses of 2021. All courses will be offered virtually and at no cost. They will be taught by CEC’s subject matter experts, who will keep you up to date regulatory programs and changes that could affect you.

Through the CEC/ETC program, CEC keeps you informed on regulatory topics that affect your organization. Whether you are new in your career and looking to grow your knowledge quickly, or you are an experienced professional committed to staying up to date, these half-day, sales-free training courses are for you. You’ll leave your course with timely know-how and takeaways to tackle challenging regulations and requirements. You’ll also earn Continuing Education Units.

Endangered Species Act (ESA) Compliance

You’ll learn how the Endangered Species Act (ESA) is implemented, the criteria that are used to protect species, and the number and distribution of protected species. We will explain what is considered “take” and how project components can get authorized (Federal Agency Consultations) or permitted (Habitat Conservation Plans) to “take” a listed species. The course will also present information on similar state laws and provide an overview of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

 

Air Compliance Challenges

You’ll learn how to manage the tight construction schedules and project demands that can make the air permitting process stressful. After you receive the green light for construction, you can breathe a quick sigh of relief, but don’t forget your air obligations don’t end after you obtain a permit. This course will review on-going air compliance requirements such as permit terms, off-permit compliance standards and annual reporting and will give some pointers and best management practices for complying with those requirements and surviving enforcement inspections.

 

Intro to Environmental Regulations

Clean Water Act & NPDES Overview

You’ll learn the basics of water regulations, including National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) plans; Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP); and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans. We cover regulations at the federal level and the state level.

Maintaining Compliance for the Natural Gas Industry
